Worldwide, more than&nbsp; 1.2 million people are killed on roads every year and up to 50 million more are injured; with most casualties from developing countries. In addition to different disabilities, road.accidents cause extensive psychological disorders and grief, and occasionally economic hardship for families. Furthermore, road accidents cost societies precious resources, diverting these from other health as well as development challenges.
