fa W3: Challenges in Nursing Care of Epileptic Patients تحقیقات پایه در علوم اعصاب Basic research in Neuroscience مروری Review --- Open Access, CC-BY-NC <div style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: Tahoma; font-size: 12px; text-align: center; background-color: rgb(251, 250, 249);">لطفاً به چکیده انگلیسی مراجعه شود.</span></div> Procedures before LTM: <ol> <li>Admitting the patient and introduce yourself, then explain how to do LTM and describe its aim</li> <li>Doing MRI with epilepsy protocol</li> <li>Washing the patient&#39;s hair</li> <li>Preparing the instruments for starting the LTM</li> <li>Measuring the head with 10-20 system and mark the spots with a red pen</li> <li>Doing blood exam with doctor&#39;s order</li> <li>Considering the patient&#39;s consciousness and speech</li> </ol> Procedures during LTM: <ol> <li>Check the electrode&#39;s impedance and change the electrode if it is necessary and put some gel under the electrodes.</li> <li>Select the abnormal changes like IED, seizure, subclinical and etc.</li> <li>Observe the brain waves and manage the nursing care</li> <li>Make a friendly relationship with the patient and take care of her/him and protect the head box and the electrodes</li> <li>Do the nursing test</li> <li>Record the seizure and inform the doctor and perform his order</li> </ol> Procedures after LTM:<br> After recording sufficient seizures, call the doctor and remove the electrodes from the patient&#39;s head, after 24 hours that the seizure ends, the patient can be discharged.
